Track and Trace uses a barcoding system that allows you to check medication is given correctly.
Each barcode will hold information about the patient, the medication and the times of dosing. Thus SafeMeds ensures that the right medication is given to the right patient at the right time.
If for any reason the wrong medication is picked up, SafeMeds will highlighted as incorrect when the barcode is read.
Simple ordering system from SafeMeds
SafeMeds Track and Trace system is the safest way of administering medication.
You can only give the correct medication to the correct patient.
SafeMeds Track and Trace system also means that you have the option to get all your medication dispensed in original packs. This means that if a mistake has been made then it is easy to trace.
Original pack dispensing means that you receive the medication in it’s original condition with expiry dates and batch numbers.
The Government’s ambition is for all care homes to use barcode medication in the future. Barcoding medication greatly improves patient safety by reducing the number of prescribing errors, which can sometimes be fatal. A number of pilots are being established to determine how this can best happen.
